Dae Song Lee is an architect and installation artist, and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at Yonsei University. Grounded in new materialism, he founded and directs the Design System Lab, which conducts experimental research on Material Systems and Computational Beings. His work begins from an understanding of form as an infinitely entangled relation constituted through repetition and difference, and, on this basis, explores the realm of emergence through instrumentalized computational technologies, techniques, and diagrammatic methods. More recently, his research has focused on smart phenomena arising from simple principles. Since 2004, his work has been published and exhibited internationally across Korea, North America, Central America, and Europe. He graduated from the AA School of Architecture in London, taught as Unit Master at AA Visiting School Seoul, and has served as its Director since 2022.
